A green kickoff for our Interreg SK-AT project HUBsburg-TwinSmart in May 2026:
Right at the start of the project, we equipped 15 Viennese schools with new raised garden beds to make nature and biodiversity tangible in the urban environment.
In interactive workshops, the participating classes learned everything they needed to know about the raised garden bed ecosystem – from the correct layering of soil to the ideal selection of plants for greater biodiversity.
The newly acquired knowledge was immediately put into practice with great enthusiasm, and the students planted their new beds entirely on their own! In this way, they took direct responsibility for their small gardens and experienced firsthand how new habitats for insects and plants develop.
With this initiative, we made a strong statement for applied environmental education. A fantastic project launch that will literally bear fruit in the coming months!
