The European Office of the Board of Education for Vienna implements numerous initiatives to foster the European dimension in Viennese schools and is the focal point for international and European affairs:

  • Förderung von Erasmus+ Schulpartnerschaften & internationalem Austausch
Our initiatives for Viennese schools

The main focus of our projects is on developing and strengthening the European key competences for lifelong learning. These competences are particularly needed for personal development, a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, entry into the job market, active citizenship and social inclusion. The team at the Europe Office is currently implementing the following school initiatives:

  • Supporting schools in the implementation of Erasmus+ educational projects as part of the “enterEurope” initiative
  • Entwicklung und Implementierung von „future jobs“ Schüler:innenworkshops für eine Zukunft als EU Bürger:in
  • Carrying out mobilities for teachers and students
  • Initiatives at the interface between school and career entry/career orientation
  • Sustainable cross-border cooperation (schools, educational regions, educational institutions, administrative authorities …)
  • Informing about the key competences and competence orientation consultation
  • Database with materials developed in projects on the European key competences for lifelong learning: tutorials, online games, teaching examples…
  • Development and implementation of quality measures in the educational regions: entrepreneurship education, preventive support measures, MINT, digital skills…
  • Guidelines to support school development processes (e.g. ‘multilingualism’, ‘gender’)
