As part of the Interreg project eTOM SK-AT – Education for Tomorrow project, 20 students from Vienna enjoyed an inspiring day of STEM learning in June 2026 at the observatory of the German School Bratislava.
During the visit, the students explored the Solar System and gained insights into the fundamental principles of astronomy. Through interactive presentations and hands-on activities, they discovered how the Sun shapes life on Earth, influencing the climate, the cycle of day and night, and many natural phenomena. A particular highlight was observing the Sun safely through a solar telescope, giving the students a unique first-hand experience of astronomical observation.
Through the project, the European Office of the Board of Education for Vienna enabled nearly 90 students from Vienna to participate in fully funded educational field trips and connect with partner classes in Slovakia.
