At the end of the Erasmus+ project enterEurope “Strengthening Diversity,” a group of eleven Viennese heads of school and two diversity managers from the Board of Education for Vienna, took part in a final job shadowing experience in Stockholm from April 15–18 2026.
A varied program with specialist presentations, intensive discussions, and visits to eight schools not only provided in-depth insights into the Swedish education system, but above all, how it is put into practice. A strong emphasis was placed on the well-being of everyone within the school community. Dedicated teams work continuously to further develop pedagogical concepts to promote diversity and to anchor them in everyday school life.
Participants observed an increased return of textbooks, and a clear regulation of the handling of smartphones. Devices are stored in individual envelopes and may only be opened jointly by students and teachers–an approach that creates both structure and promotes personal responsibility.
With this final mobility, the project came to a successful conclusion and the results are impressive: 12 Viennese schools participated, and of these 10 are now Erasmus+ accredited – a clear success and a strong signal for the sustainable anchoring of international cooperation in education.
