This was the topic of a visit to Berlin by a group of 23 teachers, 5 school principals and representatives of the Vienna Department of Education from 16 to 19 March 2025 as part of our Erasmus+ project „enterEurope – Diversity“.
During their stay, the participants observed lessons at eight Berlin schools of different types and gained valuable insights into the topic of ‘diversity’. The visits made it possible to get to know various resources and to observe how diversity is implemented in practice in everyday school life – both in the classroom and taking into account local and personnel circumstances.
The job shadowing not only offered the opportunity to experience European values and the Erasmus+ programme at first hand, but also to promote exchange with colleagues. Expert lectures, best practice examples and peer networking provided numerous suggestions for further integrating and deepening the topic of ‘diversity’ in one’s own pedagogical practice.
